Riding The California Coast

Driving on an open road is a pleasure we rarely get to enjoy any more. Traffic in most major cities is no longer limited to weekday mornings and evenings. So when we have an opportunity to hop on our bikes and head up or down the coast, or to the desert we rarely decline said invitations. Granted riding is a freedom not everybody enjoys, we all can relate to sitting in one spot for a number of hours. Whether at work, school, or on long plane flights; sitting is only comfortable for a couple hours at most. We get it, that’s why we began work to design a boxer brief that forms comfortably on the thighs and pouch. Working with Supima Cotton, the softest, strongest cotton that hold color well. Our designers created many fun styles including this dark gray boxer brief with orange trim and detailed orange waistband.

Seamless Men’s Underwear, What Are They?

Always looking to create new men’s underwear designs, Croota was fortunate enough to work with a manufacturer that introduced us to this fun material. The Seamless manufacturing process allowed our design team the freedom to create patterns with more colors and designs in which they did not have the opportunity of before. Made of 54% Polyester, 35% Nylon, and 11% Elastane, the material has a nice elasticity which is a bit more forgiving in the pouch area. Although some patterns have sold out, over 20 patterns have been designed as of this writing. The boxer brief is a form fitting design on the backside and thight with a pouch area that gives extra stretch. During photo shoots, several men and women asked if they were underwear or swimwear. While you can use them in the water, unlike traditional swimwear, the do not have a tie on band that would hold them snug when swimming. They are perfect for the Jacuzzi or sun bathing. While not all the designs are featured, hopefully you’ll find something to your liking.

CROOTA P LINE: NEW FOR 2016

UPTOWN 01 P - BLUE
UPTOWN 01 P – BLUE

Croota is nearing 10 years in the underwear business. Not afraid to try new things, a few years ago we began selling our Seamless Men’s Boxer Briefs. It was a hard sell at first, but many positive reviews later, it did not take long before we needed to expand the line. We always wanted to design women’s intimates from the beginning but it wasn’t until Fall of 2015 Croota Women’s Seamless BoyShorts were launched and a good seller for us too.

Now the P Line will be another growing step for Croota. We are returning with a Boxer Brief made from Supima Cotton. Supima Cotton is 100% grown in the USA and is superior to other cottons. It is stronger, softer, and holds color better. This line also has a higher waistline than our previous Low Rise Boxer Briefs, now labeled Hipsters. Click on any photo for a closer look at that style.

Mojo: Sometimes You Just Know

CT03_pinterest01
CROOTA THROUGH (CT03_BLACK)

A few weeks ago I walked into a new pub in Downtown Los Angeles. I was born and raised in Los Angeles on the Eastside and have seen a lot of changes. One thing that doesn’t change is how people react to a new face in the crowd. But I know I’m not the new face here, and that’s how I walk in. With a bit of what the kids today call “swag”, but we called it mojo growing up.

I didn’t have any plans to for the evening and didn’t plan on meeting up with a friend or anything, I just wanted to grab a bite to eat and wash it down with some local brews. At the bar I ordered my craft burger, fries and beer. As I enjoyed my dinner I scanned the room for possible conversational desert. I know I’m not a good looking guy, but it is how you carry yourself. This day I felt especially good about myself after a very productive day at the office. No weakness today, I didn’t care about rejection. Smile on I thought.

Paid my dinner, ordered another beer and turned to see where the night would take me. Being that mostly everybody was trying sample trays of beer, I figured I’d ask around what styles people were drinking. It’s a good way to not look so lonely, yet break the ice with anybody in the room. A couple of touring musicians from Minnesota were into the Lavender Saison. They were playing later that night at a spot not too far from the pub so that was an option.  Shared a round, talked music and wished them well as they left for their gig letting them know I would try to make it out.

As I closed out my tab to head home, I received a text message from a friend that happened to be at a neighboring bar and invited me over to join her and her friends. It was only a couple blocks away so I decided to pop in. Las Perlas is a Tequila/Mezcal Bar with a few booths, long bar and a pool table. She was by the small stage with her musician friends. She introduced me to a couple new faces and some I’d met before. Celebrating a birthday called for a round of tequila shots.

The tequila got the best of me as I sang with the band to songs I really don’t know well, maybe the chorus, but not all the lyrics. It was wise of me to ask for a large glass of water and sit out the next couple songs. From the bar, I enjoyed watching the group sing and dance. It only took a quick second to catch a friendly smile from the far end of the bar. Was that for me, I thought?

So this is where I decide to let my mojo go to work. She asked if I was a musician. “Why would you think that?” I replied. She assumed I was part of the band, I told her I was here celebrating with a friend. “Oh,” she sighed, “I’ll let you get back to your friends”. I called the bartender over, ordered a round of shots and invited her over to join them.  Introduced her to the group where we all danced and sang until last call.

Now what happened next isn’t important. As I was scanning images of recent product photo shoots to send to clients, I came across these. I don’t look like this at all, but his swagger is in his eyes and posture.  It just takes a bit of confidence to pull it off. That’s how my mojo felt that night and it continued to the next morning.

Afternoon Delight

A couple days ago we were out on a shoot and noticed a couple enjoying the park. We didn’t realize it at the time but they were on their lunch break. They came up to us asked what we were shooting for and we explained Croota underwear. That’s when the young lady said, I think my husband wouldn’t mind modeling for you guys. He laughed and told her only if you wear the women’s underwear. Were they joking, or did we come across an opportunity we had been looking for? Well, the husband picked up his shoulder bag got on his bike and told his wife he’d be out in time for dinner. She looked at her watch and picked up her tennis racket and walked over to the courts.

Which brings us to our topic of “Afternoon Delight”. When was the last time you planned to take off of work early to meet up with your better half for an afternoon fling? For those of us that are married, it’s normally after the kids are asleep, and then we have to cajole our partner after they find interest in a book, tv show, or have fallen asleep. Romantic isn’t it?

So do yourselves a favor, plan a midweek special; even if you don’t have kids. No lunch, the kids will be home soon so make the most of your time. No need to watch a movie on Netflix, cut right to the chase. Go primal. When you’re done, don’t shower, keep the scent of your partner on you. As you sit at the dinner don’t forget to smile across the table, watch the glow. Now you can’t keep your eyes off each other. See how it’s a break from the routine? Good stuff here.

The next day you’ll be wishing you got off early everyday. Until next time, cheers.
